This was an awesome day. We started the day with a group of us from Wintec Adventure and Outdoor Recreation Course, Tori, Ciarne, Luke and myself as well as some lovely travellers from Finland who joined. We first headed to the zipline which was a 220 metre long ride and 40 metres off the ground (one of the longest in New Zealand). The views were breathtaking, with the beautiful forest below us. It was an amazing feeling being so high in the sky.
After this we headed off to do some caving. It took us a while to get to the caves, but it was a very pretty walk through dense forest passing by waterfalls.
The caving was super fun. As we made our way through some tight squeezes we saw a galaxy of glow worms and loads of stalactites and stalagmites. We all felt as if we were visting a different underground world.
After caving, Rosie(the guide’s wife) had baked us some scones and had hot cuppas waiting for us. It was very hosptitable of her, we were stoked and so hungry. We relaxed in the sun eating scones and drinking coffee and tea and on the front porch.
Overall it was a surperb day. We had some great adventures, good company and lovley hosts. What more could we want! I would highly recommend going to visit Adventure Waikato, just a quick 1 hour from Hamilton.
