On this adventure day I went Rock climbing on the cliffs of Doninos Beach with my friend Eva Gonzalez Cotenescu.
This was a spectacular day. We had amazing views of the water, waves and ocean at our rock climbing location. We did four different climbs with each one getting harder as we went along.
Eva and I really liked the location, it was so pretty. Any time we are by the sea we feel grateful, and so to climb cliffs by the sea with spectacular views was really special. We were supplied with rock climbing shoes, and all the rock climbing equipment, such as harnesses etc. We also had Ivan there – a qualified Rock climbing instructor – to give us tips and guidance.
Eva was freaking out in parts and felt scared that the rope wouldn’t hold her, but our instructor was very helpful and made us feel safe. Eventually Eva began to trust the rope and was able to start enjoying it!
I love rock climbing because I like the problem solving aspect of it. It’s challenging and requires focus. In many ways I find it meditative because you have to clear your mind in order to focus on the climbing route. If you lose your concentration you may lose you grip and fall so concentration is really important. Rock climbing on this day exhausted me, in a good way! Many times after I had climbed a route I would lie on my back on the ground, dead to the world. I climbed until my arms and legs wouldn’t hold me up anymore!
We had a blast rock climbing and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a go. We felt challenged by the climbs and stoked with the views of the ocean. The instructor was professional and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a great day. Thanks Ivan!
